I decided to make this extended play album shortly after the release of my latest LP, 'A Whim and Some Faith', which I had released in August 2014. For several tunes on A Whim and Some Faith, I had composed and arranged string parts. While mixing that album I was able to isolate the recorded tracks of the strings so that I could listen solely to their workings. Suddenly I was hearing detail in the string parts that I had not been fully conscious of! Surrounded by the dense and often dominant band arrangements throughout A Whim and Some Faith, I found that the detail I had so carefully worked into the string parts was often lost. After some suggestions from friends and family, I decided to make a recording that featured the strings. So this is What Came Next!
